What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive behavioral treatment  created by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. to treat symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. DBT is used to treat several mental health disorders including Anxiety, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Please note: If you need to use insurance for DBT please contact Dr. Zelaya-Kendall directly or call 484-557-2367 to discuss availability. If you are able to private pay, or, if your insurance reimburses you for pre--paid treatment, Lauren and Christopher have minimal availability and are able to provide insurance receipts after treatment.


Dr. Zelaya-Kendall accepts Aetna (not Aetna Better Health), Amerihealth, Blue Cross PPO (not all Horizon NJ plans--please inquire), IBX Keystone Health Plan East, IBX Personal Choice (not Penn Care), Highmark BCBS, Independence Administrators, Medicare, TriCare.

We also accept checks and credit cards for payment and can provide receipts for insurance reimbursement as needed.

The Philadelphia DBT Associates are seeking a Licensed Fee-for-Service DBT Psychotherapist. The Licensed DBT therapist will provide Individual DBT therapy, lead or co-lead a DBT skills training group, provide phone coaching to DBT clients on their caseload and attend DBT consultation team meetings.


A current and active PA license as a Psychologist, LCSW, LPC or LMFT and 2 years experience in providing outpatient psychotherapy is required. Training and experience in providing DBT, experience in working in a private or group practice and previous Magellan credentialing is preferred. For non-DBT trained Licensed psychotherapists training and supervision to provide DBT is available at a fee.
