Katy joined the Philadelphia DBT team as a clinical intern. She is currently completing her master’s degree in trauma therapy. With sensitivity to trauma in the forefront, her therapeutic practice places emphasis on adverse experiences and their impact on a person’s health and development across the lifespan.
Katy views wellness from a holistic lens, by taking the interconnection of mental and social factors into account rather than just symptom presentation. Katy’s practice is heavily influenced by gestalt, humanistic, person-centered, and psychoanalytic theory. She believes that overall health and wellness can be achieved and increased through the integration of skills training and mindfulness practice.
